Marcia is the founder and principal Senior teacher at Yoga Essence.  Since the 80s, Marcia is high spiritual and has been exploring alternative healing arts and mysticism, while working as a Marketing Executive for big multinational companies and Advertising Agencies in Brazil.  A successful marketing career was not fulfilling as expected and totally disconnected from Marcias' soul purpose, even though, the lifestyle provided was attractive.

It was in 2000 that  the 'aha' moment came. In 35 days after that, Marcia was already living in New Zealand, convinced she had found her place.

Although practising Yoga since 1996, it was in 2002 that Marcia started to deeply studying and  practising, and teaching in NZ.  

Marcia is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher Level 2 and has been a Yoga mentor for Iyengar Teacher Certification since 2022.   She is also an educator in Yoga Metaphysics and a Certified Ayurveda Lifestyle Consultant.

Marcia is the mother of Sofia, a young beautiful woman that inspires her everyday.
